Event Description
IDDS 2011 was the culmination of all the summits before it, and the beginning of a more integrated program consisting of village-based market research, market experiments, iterative design, field testing, user feedback, and co-creation.
In 2011, summit organizers saw the evolution of IDDS similar to the evolution of a product and as with any design, they continued to refine their prototype to prepare for scale and production. Organizers envisioned multiple regional summits, each of which will focus on projects relevant to its local context.
Projects included:
- User-generated content
- Moringa shelling
- Moringa oil
- Malaria prevention
- Groundnut threshing
- Biomass
- Battery charging
- Bamboo
- Artisans
